The sheer diversity of Spring/Summer collections means that there are exciting looks to please every taste. I offer you a few highlights that I think we'll be seeing both on the red carpet and on the streets:

Strength meet Beauty.

That skirt. This dress. Those shades. Love it!

Gary Graham
The styling of the photos adds drama to these unique but wearable pieces.

Cynthia Steffe
Beautiful light dresses ready for a party. Really love the booties used in this collection.

Want to turn heads? One word: prints!

Charlotte Ronson
Get your hands on a utilitarian khaki jacket.

Jason Wu
How-to lesson on shutting it down. Love love love.

Costello Tagliapietra

NY Fashion Week Spring 2010: Day 1

The shows are underway. Here are my favorites from the first official day of the Spring/Summer 2010 collections:

Elie Tahari

THE place for neutrals.

BCBG Max Azria

Mark my words...we will see these on the red carpet.

Jen Kao

Body-con at it's finest.

L.A.M.B.

A lesson on how to rock pattern.

Monique Lhuillier

Minus the shoes.

Vena Cava

In love with their graphic elements.

Prabal Gurung

Simple color palette made special by stunning bow details.

Whitney Eve

Reality star, Whitney Port, serving up leggy styles. (images via Coutorture)

Ports 1961

My favorite sh0w of the day. If I were headed on a Grand Tour, this is what I would pack.

The shows officially started today, so excited! I'm waiting for all the photos to get posted on Style.com (the best resource for show images). But while we wait, here are a few snippets from Wednesday before the official shows at Bryant Park began.

Rachel Comey
Perfect prints for all those music festivals that the kids are going to these days. Love these light pieces.

Helmut Lang
Want a tough, don't f with me, just look at me dress? Here you go.

Jenni Kayne
Simple shapes with no decoration mean these are magnets for bold accessories.

Lyn Devon
Bold colors for work and play. Looking forward to seeing and sharing more!

Milan Fashion Week - Fall 2009

Fashion Week in Milan offered many fantastic shows, but the standouts for me were these references to art and artists.

Blumarine

Any nod to Andy Warhol that looks this good should be admired.

D&G

Like wearing an opera (from the costumes to the signage) out on the town.

Etro

The unexpected colors and intricate detail mirror the artistry of royal furnishings.

Dolce and Gabbana

Who couldn't appreciate photography of Hollywood's muse, Marilyn Monroe?
