An Afternoon at the Museum

Recently I had the pleasure of dashing about New York City with my favorite girls.

One of the highlights of any trip to New York is to a visit the Museum of Modern Art. I love rediscovering old favorite pieces and artists, and being exposed to new favorites.

One Cool Thing: Girls in Windows

Ran across this outstanding beautiful image by Ormond Gigli.  The photographer was inspired by the brownstones getting demolished in his neighborhood, and immortalized the building with dozens of women in "their finest attire."  Shouldn't this be recreated some way?  Or has it been?

Read his story of this shot here.

After a few weekends of crazy, jam-packed trips and work-related activities, I can finally catch up on some postings. My first installment of photos is from a fantastic trip to Austin to the Austin City Limits Music Festival w/ my boyfriend & sibs.

Photo Monday: Russian River

Great weather, great friends, great food and a little paddling make for a fun weekend. Most of my photos from the weekend are of friends, so not entirely appropriate for the blog...but the trip was fantastic.

Our friends, Dain and Shannon Sandoval, are the real pros...and I had a great time learning some things about my camera from Dain. Here is a shot that he took that really captured the weekend for me (at least the PG-13 version I like to share here):
