Milan Fashion Week - Fall 2009

Fashion Week in Milan offered many fantastic shows, but the standouts for me were these references to art and artists.

Blumarine

Any nod to Andy Warhol that looks this good should be admired.

D&G

Like wearing an opera (from the costumes to the signage) out on the town.

Etro

The unexpected colors and intricate detail mirror the artistry of royal furnishings.

Dolce and Gabbana

Who couldn't appreciate photography of Hollywood's muse, Marilyn Monroe?

One (more) Cool Thing

Love the graphic nature of this hair comb...shown with messy hair, it's perfect.
By Italian designer, L'ape zoppa.

One Cool Thing

Love this sweet pencil pounch fashioned with Faux Bois fabric by Eleen on Etsy.
It makes me want to draw something cool.

My Clothing Embargo

I'm on a little 40-day clothing embargo...and it's tough. Nearly as tough as giving up cookies as a kid. To add insult to injury, I'm headed to Las Vegas for a family girls trip, which will have endless amounts of temptations. In an effort to avoid succumbing to those inviting stores and sale signs, I offer up these finds to you instead of clicking the "add to shopping cart" myself!

Quiet tones @ Jcrew:

Silk Cami, $79.99 and Chambray Skirt, $29.99
I typically stay away from pastels b/c of my olive coloring, but these all sing of spring to me.
Psst...you can always find a plethora of coupon codes and info here at JCrew Aficionada

Abaete @ Shopbop

"Ysabel" Dress, $112, "Carolyn" Dress, $297, "Abigail" Dress, $139
Last night, the ladies of ANTM got to model some fantastic pieces by this designer...so lucky! I'm a fan of this line, and love the cut and details of each of these dresses...but I would shorten the hem on the first one!

Charlotte Ronson @ Urban Outfitters

Charlotte Ronson Tartan dress, $119 and Knotted Back Top, $49
This designer is known for her casual pieces that are both youthful and put-together. Check out images from her Spring '09 collection.
